Peace and Social Justice Fund
The Peace and Social Justice Fund is administered by the Peace and Social
Justice Fund Committee in New South Wales Regional Meeting.
The Peace Fund will not normally be able to respond to urgent financial
requests. If a rapid decision needs to be made, we encourage local and regional
meetings to provide the needed support and then make a request for
reimbursement.
Regional Meeting and Yearly Meeting projects or committees are eligible to
apply to the Peace Fund.
The purposes of the fund:
- to provide support to Friends and attenders to carry out the peace and
social justice concerns of the Religious Society of Friends
- to support concerns relating to peace, reconciliation, disarmament,
non-violent conflict resolution, improving race relations, international order
and such other concerns as the Society becomes involved in as a form of work and
witness
- to encourage Friends to undertake activities on behalf of the above
concerns, and may therefore be used for paying administrative expenses,
equipment, travel costs, publications, conference costs and employment costs.
The Fund will not normally be available for ongoing projects or for the purchase
of land or buildings
Applicants should fill in the attached Application Form and submit a written
outline of the proposal and funds sought, including budget, to the Convenor of
the Committee. If a Quaker, they should include an endorsement from a Regional
Meeting, Yearly Meeting, Standing Committee or a Yearly Meeting Committee.
