Queensland Regional Meeting

In the 1860s Quakers settled in Queensland, first around Brisbane and then in the districts of Buderim and Rockhampton. The history of Quakers in Queensland is the history of individuals rather than Meetings. Two of the first famiies to arrive were the Smith and Hopkins families. (paraphrased from William Oats: A Question of Survival, Quakers in Australia in the Nineteenth Century, UQ Press 1985.
